Test Automation Engineer

A client within the healthcare domain is developing an in-house medical software product. It has great implications for patient safety --> the importance of quality assurance can't be overemphasized. They're looking for an experienced hands-on tester to work on building/maintaining test automation but also to conduct manual and exploratory testing.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain end-to-end test automation (Playwright + TypeScript)
• Participate in defining test cases and critical scenarios, together with developers and clinical experts
• Carry out manual and exploratory testing alongside automation
• Ensure quality, visibility, and traceability (Jira, Xray, reporting, risks)
• Participate in the planning and executing performance testing when needed (Grafana k6)
• Use AI to make testing and your own work more efficient

Requirements

• Strong hands-on experience implementing Playwright tests with TypeScript
• Experience working as a tester / test automation engineer in an agile development team
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of the testing effort as a whole
• Ability to document work proactively, following existing guidelines

Beneficial:

• Experience developing or testing Software as a Medical Device (SaMD) products (IEC 62304, MDR requirements)
• Experience with Jira-based test management and the Xray plugin
• Experience with Grafana k6-based performance testing
• Experience testing AI-assisted or AI-based products/solutions
• Experience with systems in healthcare or other regulated industries

Allocation: 50%

Duration: 10/2026 - 12/2026, potential for extensions

Language: Finnish

Location: Some on-site in Helsinki or Tampere to be expected
