About the client

The client is a fast-growing robotics and technology company building next-generation autonomous hardware and infrastructure from the ground up.

Role description

As a Senior Electronics Engineer, you will lead the design, development, and hardware architecture of electronic systems across our product ecosystem. You will ensure robust, highly reliable, and manufacturable electronic solutions while contributing to critical technical decisions throughout the full product development lifecycle.

In this hands-on technical role, you will own the electronic requirements and specifications for key subsystems, manage electronic design data within our product data management system, and help bridge the gap between embedded software and physical hardware. You will also mentor junior engineers and strengthen technical development practices within the hardware team.

Key responsibilities

  • Circuit & System Design: Lead the design, prototyping, testing, and verification of electronic circuits and hardware systems.
  • Requirements & Specifications: Define and own electronic requirements and technical specifications for subsystems and complete products.
  • Documentation & Data Management: Manage electronic design data, schematics, and technical documentation in the product data management system, ensuring all data is kept up to date.
  • Technical Leadership & Reviews: Lead and participate in design reviews, technical discussions, and system architecture evaluations.
  • Cross-Functional Support: Assist production, procurement, and operations teams with complex technical issues, root cause analysis, and component sourcing.
  • Testing & Troubleshooting: Conduct systematic fault tracing and resolve complex, cross-domain reliability issues (e.g., noise, EMI, grounding, signal integrity).
  • Continuous Improvement: Mentor other engineers and contribute to the continuous enhancement of our engineering practices.

Key Skills & Competencies

  • Deep expertise in electronics engineering with a structured, solution-oriented mindset.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the confidence to lead technical discussions and design decisions.
  • Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven ability to bridge the gap between embedded software architecture and electronic hardware domains.

Must have qualifications

  • Cross-Domain Understanding: Broad technical understanding of both hardware and embedded software domains.
  • Systematic Debugging: Strong fault-tracing capabilities and hands-on experience debugging cross-domain reliability issues (noise, EMI, grounding, signal integrity) using oscilloscopes and logic analyzers.
  • Hardware & Circuit Theory: Solid foundation in circuit theory, computer-level hardware architectures, schematic capture, and PCB layout design.

Nice to have

  • Communication Bus Protocols: Hands-on probing, decoding, and error handling for CAN bus, Ethernet, SPI, I2C, and UART.
  • Motor Control: Experience with brushless motor control (FOC).
  • Design Tools: Proficiency in schematic capture and PCB layout using Altium.
  • Standards & Compliance: Familiarity with industrial, automotive, or robotics standards (IPC, IEC 62443, ISO 13849, IEC 62061) and EMC/RF principles.
  • Domain Experience: Embedded electronics experience within robotics, industrial automation, or autonomous vehicle systems.
  • Architecture Input: Experience supporting higher-level embedded and software architecture decisions.
