Project Manager – IoT Gateway & Cloud Platform Renewal

A client within the material handling industry is starting a year-long project to develop a new IoT gateway with a European hardware manufacturer and renew their cloud-based IoT platform with their current cloud provider. The platform will ingest data from the gateways and host containerized services. They are on the lookout for an experienced Project Manager to coordinate both external vendors, manage end-to-end delivery, and ensure hardware, embedded software, and cloud components work smoothly together.

Your role:

• Act as the single point of coordination between the hardware manufacturer and cloud platform provider
• Plan, track, and report overall project progress, milestones, dependencies, risks, and budget to the steering group
• Run project cadence in Jira and Confluence (backlog, roadmap, sprint/kanban boards, reporting, decision logs, and documentation)
• Facilitate planning, reviews, retrospectives, and cross-vendor alignment meetings
• Drive resolution of interface and integration issues across hardware, firmware, connectivity, and cloud
• Follow up on supplier deliverables, acceptance criteria, testing, and release readiness
• Proactively manage and escalate risks, changes, and issues with stakeholders

Required qualifications:

• Proven experience as a Project Manager in technology projects combining hardware and software (embedded/IoT, connected products)
• Ability to bridge technical discussions between hardware manufacturing and cloud/software teams
• Hands-on expertise with Jira and Confluence (boards, workflows, dashboards, JQL, documentation)
• Solid knowledge of Scrum and Kanban, with experience combining agile practices with hardware stage gates
• Experience managing and coordinating multiple external suppliers
• Fluency in English

Beneficial:

• Understanding of IoT architecture (gateways, cellular/CAN/J1939 connectivity, device management, OTA updates, cloud ingestion)
• Experience with cloud platforms and containerized workloads (Docker/Kubernetes)
• Experience in heavy machinery, industrial, vehicle, or telematics domains
• Knowledge of hardware development, manufacturing, certification, and cybersecurity requirements (CRA, RED)
• Certifications such as PMP, PRINCE2, PSM, or SAFe
• Finnish language skills

Start: Week 44 / 2026

Duration: ~12 months (until end of 2027)

Location: Finland

Language: English, Finnish is a plus

Allocation: ~40% (approx. 2 days per week)
