iOS Engineer for Retail

A client within the retail sector is looking for an iOS Engineer to develop features & functionality for their mobile app. More than 2M users have downloaded and activated the app, so reliability, security and quality get extra attention. The work is done in agile teams, in close cooperation with business stakeholders, designers, backend and QA engineers.

iOS development is done mainly in Swift, but some parts are written in RxSwift and SwiftUI & Combine. The client is looking for someone who loves delivering high-quality mobile apps with great UX design. You need to have good experience with Swift and UIKit, solid knowledge of modern Swift iOS development practices, and a good grasp of software development best practices like clean code and unit & integration testing, plus a desire to automate everything.

Previous experience with Swift, RxSwift, SwiftUI & Combine and Xcode is key, as is experience working in a cross-functional team. Clear communication, cooperation and good team spirit matter, as does getting along well with different people. The role also calls for the ability to manage complex integrations, learn new technologies and adapt to new working models quickly.

Please note that the client is conducting a security check (SUPO) for the chosen candidate. Project will start as soon as the security check is completed.

Start: Soon / when the right candidate is found and security check cleared

Duration: 6 months, extension likely (long-term project)

Location: Helsinki, at least 2 office days per week ongoing

Language: English (Finnish a plus)

Allocation: 100%

• Previous experience with mobile development in the iOS environment

• Strong expertise of Swift (RxSwift, Swift UI & Combine)
• Strong experiene of Xcode
• Vision on architectural matters, for example being able to recognize dependencies
• Willingness to build and maintain test automation
• A team player and cooperative mindset
• Communicative working style (fluent English)

Preferred knowledge/expertise:

• VIPER architecture
• Cyber security
• Accessibility experience
• Splunk experience
• Experience with loyalty programs or banking
