Data Engineer (Common / Data Team)

The client is looking for a hands-on Data Engineer to join their central Data Team to build and optimize modern data pipelines. The role focuses on transforming raw data into high-value published assets within Snowflake and moving data across various systems into a centralized platform. Key initial priorities include transforming newly loaded GA4 data into a Gold/publish layer, refining data products based on user consent, and migrating datasets from various sources into Snowflake. Depending on the candidate's profile, the role may also extend into backend development for data gathering logic.

Responsibilities

• Building data transformations in Snowflake using dbt, specifically turning ingested data (e.g., GA4) into Gold/publish layer assets.
• Enhancing and developing data products based on consent management data.
• Ingesting and migrating data from multiple internal and external source systems into Snowflake.
• Developing backend workflows and integrations for automated data gathering tasks.
• Collaborating closely with the core data team and engineering leadership.

Qualifications and technical skills

• dbt: Strong, hands-on experience with dbt for data transformation and modeling (mandatory).
• Snowflake: Solid expertise in managing, modeling, and querying data within Snowflake.
• AWS: Practical experience working within the AWS cloud ecosystem.
• Backend Data Gathering: Experience or interest in backend development for pipeline building and data acquisition.
• Soft Skills: Self-driven, collaborative mindset with the ability to take ownership of end-to-end data tasks in a multi-developer environment.

• Location requirements: Hybrid (Helsinki Metropolitan area; 3 days/week onsite during onboarding, transitioning to 1–2 days/week later)
