Lead Android Engineer (Helsinki)

A client within the retail sector is looking for an experienced Senior Android Engineer to take on the role of Lead Android Engineer for their mobile app. You'll be developing the features & functionality of the app in agile teams, in close co-operation with business stakeholders, designers, developers and QA engineers. More than 2.5M users have downloaded and activated the app, which means they pay extra attention to its reliability and quality.

As Lead Android Engineer, you love delivering high-quality mobile apps with great UX design. You have strong experience with Kotlin, solid knowledge of modern Android development practices, and a deep understanding of software development best practices like modern architectural principles, clean code and test-driven development covering unit, integration and UI tests.

Please note that the client is conducting a security check (SUPO) for the chosen candidate. Project will after the security check is completed.

Start: Soon / when the right candidate is found and security check cleared

Duration: 6 months, extension likely (long-term project)

Location: Helsinki, at least 2 office days per week ongoing

Language: English (Finnish a plus)

Allocation: 100%

What we expect from you:

• Strong experience & know-how from mobile development in the Android environment
• Strong experience with Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, RxJava, Dagger2 and custom UI
• Ability to make architectural decisions and plan code maintenance & refactoring
• Ability to create processes and solid technical documentation
• Ability to lead technical decisions, ensure best practices and take ownership
• Knowledge of Google Play Services
• Active participation in the client's mobile competence community and knowledge sharing
