The customer, a major financial and insurance sector enterprise operating in a regulated environment, is looking to systematically harness artificial intelligence across its software development lifecycle (SDLC). Currently, cross-cutting functionality is split among multiple teams and external vendors, leading to coordination bottlenecks and handoff delays. While individual software development teams have demonstrated efficiency gains using AI, these benefits remain fragmented and isolated within specific vendor boundaries. The client aims to transition from point-solution AI usage to an integrated, organization-wide approach. This initiative focuses on conducting a current-state assessment and defining a target-state framework for a selected End-to-End (E2E) pilot.

The objective is to eliminate organizational siloes, establish an AI governance model, harmonize practices across vendors, and outline a concrete roadmap for future implementation. The role is structured as individual expert advisory operating under the customer’s direct work steering.

Responsibilities

• Current State Assessment: Evaluating the current state of AI utilization within a targeted E2E development pilot, identifying coordination bottlenecks, and mapping existing skill gaps.
• Target State Definition: Establishing a target-state model for the E2E pilot that will serve as a foundational baseline for the organization's broader AI adoption strategy.
• Practice Harmonization & Governance: Identifying key development practices to standardize and designing an AI governance model to eliminate overlapping solutions across internal teams and external vendors.
• Competency & Profile Mapping: Validating internal capability needs and defining clear future roles and competency profiles required for AI-driven software development.
• Tooling Evaluation: Assessing the current tool stack (GitHub Copilot, M365 Copilot, Atlassian Rovo) and providing justified recommendations for potential alternative or complementary tools.
• Implementation Roadmap: Formulating an actionable execution plan to guide the rollout of the E2E AI development model following the mapping phase.

Qualifications and technical skills

• SDLC & AI Expertise: Hands-on experience and a deep understanding of integrating AI capabilities into modern software development lifecycles, developer workflows, and E2E delivery flows.
• Regulated Industry Background: Proven track record of working as an advisor or expert in highly regulated industries (e.g., finance, insurance, or banking).
• AI Tooling Ecosystem: Strong practical familiarity with developer AI tools, specifically GitHub Copilot, M365 Copilot, and Atlassian Rovo.
• Governance & Process Harmonization: Ability to design AI governance structures, streamline handoffs between multi-vendor teams, and dismantle cross-team coordination barriers.
• Consultative Approach: Senior-level experience operating under customer work steering, with strong capabilities in gap analysis, target-state architecture/process design, and strategic advisory.
• Communication: Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, capable of bridging technical teams, vendor partners, and business stakeholders.
