Accessibility and UX Designer
We are looking for an Accessibility and UX Designer for a part time project. Your main responsibility will be to focus on tasks at both on a tactical and operational level in the areas of digital accessibility and UX design. The work takes its starting point from "guidelines for web development" (DIGG.se), the standard WCAG 2.1 AA, "About the law on accessibility to digital public services (DOS law)" (Digg.se) and in EN standard 301549. Major emphasis is also on inclusive design and principles around this.
The work is divided in two approaches. One direction is more comprehensive in the form of acting as a development coach where the focus is on method support, training and guidance in both the areas of digital accessibility and UX in general. This includes work such as developing process support and tangible support in everyday life for the various development phases, checklists for support as well as preparing and leading training efforts and competence forums. The customer's target group is primarily agile teams, but also certain parts of the customer's entire operation.
The second part is more operational work where involvement takes place on a daily basis with agile teams at the Customer. The work here is characterized by collaboration and dialogue with the Customer's various teams and operations. Short feedback loops and close dialogue with the Customer and its operations contribute to you being involved in the entire development process and contributing its support to this.
Other duties include:
The work within digital accessibility and UX design involves you contributing expertise in these areas. Addition to this, you will contribute with certain parts regarding graphic design and the process for producing early sketches/prototypes/mockups/wireframes. The work here is partly about building up methodological support around this, but also based on needs, support in the operational management.
You will get a chance to work with the visual experience, form and elements more towards inclusive design, as well as design and clarify the process for conducting user tests. Here, the work is partly about building up methodological support around this, but also based on needs, support in the operational management.
In both the more comprehensive work and the operational, tasks will include:
*Preparation and implementation of training initiatives within accessibility
*Act as a development coach where methodological support, training and guidance are given to the Customer's team and operations within accessibility and UX.
*Supports the Customer in using various tools for digital accessibility.
*Conduct accessibility audits
*Assist in development initiated by the Customer's business and the Customer's external customers.
*Constant improvements to increase quality and efficiency.
*Environmental surveillance.
*Focus on contributing to development with great consideration for usability and accessibility.
*Work closely with others in systems development areas that include work with JavaScript (primarily Vue), CSS and HTML.
We are looking for someone with:
*Experience with the WCAG 2.1 AA standard
*Experience working in the areas of digital accessibility and UX design
*Experience with the tools like Jira, Confluence, Mattermost, NVDA, Adobe XD, Sketch, Figma, JAWS, VoiceOver
*Experience working with various development extensions for browsers such as Wave, Web-developer, WCAG Color contrast checker, axeDev Tools
Start: Mid August 2023
End: 12/2023 + possible 6 month extension
Allocation: 40%
Location: Mainly remote, some onsite is required at the customer premises in Sundsvall (Customer is not paying traveling costs)
